We were grateful for the opportunity to share news of the upcoming 2026 Ó Dochartaigh Clann Gathering on Highland Radio today.
On The Greg Hughes Show today–May 5–host Greg Hughes spoke with Ó Dochartaigh Clann Association President Eva Doherty Gremmert, who is currently in Inishowen, about this August’s gathering in Inishowen.

During the interview, Eva emphasized that the Gathering brings together our people from across the world—welcoming both the Ó Dochartaigh diaspora around the world and warmly inviting local participation. She reflected on her own connection to Inishowen through her grandparents, and her first visit with her father for the original 1985 Clann Gathering, speaking of the lasting sense of “home” that has drawn her and her family back ever since.
The conversation also highlighted the growing interest in heritage and ancestry, both among those abroad and within Donegal itself. Eva noted the continued work of the Clann Association through regular newsletters and monthly online gatherings and classes, helping connect people globally who share Ó Dochartaigh roots.
Above all, the message was simple: whether you know your exact family line or not, the Gathering offers a place to belong—an opportunity to connect with a shared heritage and with others who value it. Plan your visit and get registered on the Gathering page.
We are thankful to Greg and Highland Radio for helping spread the word, and we invite all who are interested to join us in Inishowen this August.
In the player, above, is a short audio excerpt from the program, featuring the introduction and Eva’s interview. Enjoy!
